Composition and Pharmacological Properties:

The BARS® insecticidal collar contains the active ingredients: fipronil – 40 mg/g and diflubenzuron – 1.0 mg/g, along with polyvinyl chloride plastisol, plasticizer, eucalyptus essential oil, red-brown iron oxide pigment, and “Basko” chocolate concentrate.

The collar provides a broad spectrum of insecticidal and acaricidal action against adult and immature stages (larvae) of fleas, lice, biting lice, and ixodid ticks parasitizing cats.

Fipronil, a phenylpyrazole insecticide, works by disrupting chloride ion flow through synaptic channels in nerve cell membranes. By affecting gamma-aminobutyric acid receptors (GABA receptors) in ectoparasites (without affecting mammalian GABA receptors), it impairs nerve impulse transmission, causing paralysis and death of the parasites.

Diflubenzuron, a chitin synthesis inhibitor, acts on larval stages of arthropods by inhibiting chitin formation in the exoskeleton, disrupting development, preventing maturation to adult stages, stopping egg-laying, and reducing the survival of new larvae.

As the active substances slowly release from the collar, fipronil and diflubenzuron remain on the animal’s skin surface, hair follicles, sebaceous glands, and coat, providing long-lasting contact insecticidal action (before bites occur). Protection begins 24 hours after application.

Storage:

Store in the original closed packaging in a place protected from direct sunlight, at 2°C to 25°C, out of reach of children.

Shelf Life:

The product is valid for 3 years from the date of manufacture if stored properly in the sealed packaging. Do not use after the expiration date.

Dosage Form:

Polymer collar, 35 cm in length, individually packaged in a hermetically sealed PVC pouch with instructions for use.

Outer packaging: cardboard box.
